THE #TRIBE STORY

It all started with a belief and half a kitchen table. The year was 2001 and I embarked on my real estate career working off half of my kitchen table. I knew if given the chance I would be successful and prosperous.

 

However, there were not many opportunities out there in the oversaturated real estate community. Instead of settling for less, I decided to change the rules and landscape of real estate. I didn't know at the time how this would forever change my life and all those who came along for the journey. The company went from 90k gross commission to now a multi million dollar gross annually company that empowers others for success while giving back to those in our community.

 

What started as a desire to show others how to be successful has now grown into an amazing tribe of people who embrace the importance of family, friends and community while serving others. We call it #TRIBE.

 

The best part...we just keep growing and growing as we focus on serving others.

Barry began his career at 18, and has spanned almost two decades. He currently runs a team in Virginia Beach, VA & he’s also the CMO of Better Homes and Gardens Native American Group. His real estate team at this firm sold just under 900 units in 2020 and is ranked #9 on the Real Trends to 1,000 groups in America.

He is also a full-time Executive at Ylopo with the title of “Head Realtor in Residence” where he trains their customers; assists with product development & platform evangelism for them. His passions are his faith: being an ordained minister himself; his wife; and his 3 children.

As the Relocation Director at Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Native American Group, I have had the privilege of leading our relocation services for the past nine years. Throughout my tenure, I have been dedicated to ensuring seamless and stress-free transitions for our clients as they embark on new chapters in their lives.

In my role, I oversee a wide range of responsibilities that are critical to the success of our relocation services. I serve as the primary point of contact for corporate clients building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure their satisfaction throughout the relocation process. I help ensure all necessary documentation, contracts, and agreements are completed accurately and in compliance with legal requirements.

I also oversee a team of agents specializing in relocation to ensure compliance with reporting, processing and referral management.

With a career rooted in dedication and service, Kelsy Huertas transitioned from an 8-year tenure in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate to pursue her passion in real estate. Originally hailing from Hartford, Connecticut, she found her home here in Hampton Roads 8 years ago. Her journey from military service to real estate has been driven by a commitment to excellence and a desire to make a meaningful impact in people's lives. As a Realtor, she brings the same values of integrity, discipline, and dedication that she honed during her time in the Navy, benefiting not only her clients but also her fellow agents.

Kelsy's passion for real estate extends beyond serving her clients. In her role as the Tribe's Director of Training and Talent Acquisitions, she is responsible for identifying and recruiting top talent, ensuring the team is composed of the best professionals in the industry.

Being a team member of this amazing firm for over 14 years has been a blessing!

Throughout these years I have grown and learned so much from the industry. What started as the first administrative assistant to the CEO has lead me to expand my knowledge in other departments in the firm (REO, Relocation, Marketing, Transactions, and Listings).

As the Listings Manager, I have managed over 10,000 listings from going Live on the market to Sold!

I specialize in 7 MLS memberships to ensure compliance in each for our agents. I assist agents in all necessary listing documents, contracts, and disclosures.

With over 20 years of management experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the real estate industry. For the past year, I have been proud to serve as the REO Director at Native American Group, where I leverage my extensive background to oversee and optimize the management of our Real Estate Owned properties.

 

As the REO (Real Estate Owned) director at our firm I play a pivotal role in managing properties acquired through foreclosure or other means. I am  responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of REO properties, from initial acquisition to final disposition. This involves ensuring that properties are effectively managed, maintained, and prepared for sale. I coordinate property management efforts, which includes overseeing repairs, renovations, and maintenance to enhance marketability and preserve property value. Financial oversight is another critical aspect of the role, involving budget management for property-related expenses such as repairs, taxes, and insurance.

Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements is paramount, ensuring all transactions adhere to applicable laws and regulations governing real estate sales. Leadership is key to manage a team responsible for day-to-day operations, including property managers, real estate agents, and contractors. Additionally, I maintain relationships with clients and agents fostering transparency and effective communication throughout the REO management and sales process. Overall, my role as a REO director is instrumental in optimizing the firm's REO portfolio, balancing strategic decision-making with operational oversight to achieve successful property dispositions while mitigating risks and maximizing returns.

I joined the Tribe as a REO billing specialist March 01, 2023. What an awesome journey this past year has been! Passionate about contributing to the REO and Property Management portfolios, I thrive in dynamic environments where precision and problem-solving skills are valued. I have found a supportive community within the broker owners, accounting team, admin team and agents. They truly embody the spirit of teamwork and commitment toward common goals.

As an experienced REO Billing Specialist and Property Management Specialist, I have a strong background in managing and optimizing billing processes. My role involves ensuring accurate invoicing and resolving billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
